Currently, the zoning in Forest Agriculture (FA) is for horses, swine, farm animals excluding swing, and general farm animals conditionally. The condition is that an agricultural building for farm animals is 1.5 acres. We will be speaking with the council to propose an amendment to make a separate section for chickens for a .5 acre lot minimum.
Why is this important?
1.5 acres makes sense for large farm animals, however a smaller lot size should be available for chickens.
