Nevada Uprise scandal needs to be Investigated!!

The Nevada Legislature has yet to investigate the Uprise Fiber scandal, where $9 million in taxpayer funds disappeared from a failed fiber optic project. Despite 91% of us saying lawmakers should act, no public hearings have been scheduled.
Key Players:
Stephen Kromer – Owner of Uprise Fiber, linked to millions in withdrawals. He has not responded to inquiries.
Governor Joe Lombardo – Chairs the NDOT Board that approved the Uprise contract in February 2023 but has remained silent.
Attorney General Aaron Ford – His office approved the contract and launched a criminal investigation after KRNV News 4 reported Kromer’s resignation. Ford has refused to comment, citing litigation.
Senator Melanie Scheible (D) – Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, she says there’s no need for a legislative probe.
Senator Ira Hansen (R) – The only lawmaker publicly calling for an investigation. But as a minority party member, he lacks the power to initiate one.
NDOT & The Attorney General’s Office – Amended the contract after payments were made but never took it to the NDOT Board for approval.
No Oversight, No Answers
Legislative committees responsible for government oversight—including Commerce and Labor, Judiciary, and Ways and Means—have not publicly questioned how the state lost $9 million.
Despite the lack of high-speed internet for Lovelock residents and mounting concerns over who approved these payments, political inaction dominates. With Democrats controlling the Legislature, only they can issue subpoenas.
Senator Hansen believes the A.G.’s office “dropped the ball” on this contract, making it a $9 million mistake. But will anyone in power step up to investigate?
We are demanding an investigation!

Why is this important?
Nevada citizens want to know where their money went. We demand to know. Sign now to demand that there is an internal investigation into where the money went and why it was given to Uprise before any work was completed.
