SAFETY FIRST “Schenectady School District”

Dear Mr. Russo and Mr. Cotto, My name is Tara. I’m starting this petition on behalf of our future generations. Children of families, including my own, and loved ones that attend the Schenectady city school districts. From my understanding,  the kids will not be allowed to have their cell phones at school. Therefore, some other types of safety measures need to be installed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our children while school is in session. This should be a first and foremost number one priority. The evidence of last year's weapons as to threats made in Oneida Middle School alone should be enough for change, Without some type of change the same results will unfortunately continue to re-occur https://www.timesunion.com/news/article/schenectady-eyes-new-detection-scanners-weapons-19657978.php Not speaking for any one (that is why I’m starting this petition) but I do strongly believe most parents would agree on this and want their children safe, knowing they are in school for solely academics rather than all day worrying about their child’s well being and safety. Especially these days, it would be fruitful to do so. Thank you for your time.
