Save Quimbee

We are writing to express our deep concerns regarding the recent decision to terminate the Quimbee subscription for students at the University of Connecticut School of Law. As members of the student body, we strongly oppose this decision and urge the administration to reconsider.

Quimbee has been an invaluable resource for law students at our university, providing comprehensive study materials, case briefs, and other essential tools to supplement our legal education. Its termination would deprive us of a critical resource that greatly aids in our academic success and preparedness for the legal profession.

Furthermore, we must emphasize the significant discrepancy in our reading period compared to other law schools. The shorter reading period already places us at a disadvantage, and removing resources like Quimbee would further exacerbate the inequities we face in being competitive across state and national levels.

Access to resources like Quimbee is not only essential for our academic success but also for our ability to compete in the legal field. As future lawyers, we rely on such tools to enhance our understanding of complex legal concepts, prepare for exams, and ultimately excel in our careers.

Therefore, we urge the administration to reconsider its decision and maintain the Quimbee subscription for students at the University of Connecticut School of Law. Doing so will ensure that we have the necessary resources to succeed academically and professionally, despite the challenges posed by our shorter reading period.

Additionally, we request that the administration consider extending our reading period to align with those of other law schools. A longer reading period is essential for our academic success, allowing us the time needed to thoroughly comprehend and engage with course material. By extending the reading period, the university can further support student success and mitigate the impact of any resource limitations.

Why is this important?

Ultimately, joining the campaign for change is about supporting students, advocating for quality education, and ensuring fairness and equity within the academic community. It's an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by these decisions.
