To: U.S. Congress, specifically Progressive Caucus members

Tell Congress, Make concerts affordable again, and stop Ticketmaster.

Dear United States Congress,
Ticketmaster and Live Nation have been allowed to perform predatory practices that exploit consumers to line their pockets for too long. They are a monopoly and abuse this to price tickets at egregious prices, using platinum pricing and assisting resellers, who continue to drive up prices to a level that most consumers cannot afford to go to concerts. They are exploiting consumers. This is not something that should be allowed to continue, so we, the people, are asking you to stand up and do something.
We would like to ask that you do the following:
Revive and pass the TICKET Act (S.1303, 118th Congress), which would require that the full price of a ticket be disclosed to a consumer throughout the process of expressing interest in and purchasing it and ban additional fees from being tacked on.
-Investigate the potentially illegal monopoly of Ticketmaster and Live Nation, who combined own a majority of concert venues and have deals with a majority of labels in the United States
-Set a cap of 125% of the face value (the original base value of the ticket, including fees, before any dynamic pricing or resale).

Why is this important?

Ticketmaster and Live Nation have made attending concerts almost unaffordable for the average consumer. We believe this needs to change. Concerts should not cost so much that people have to go into debt to afford them. For example, concert tickets costing $500 for NOSEBLEED seats are unacceptable. Something needs to change.
