Traffic Signal on Rt 1 & Slicers Mill Road in Rising Sun, MD

Maryland Highway Administration was contacted a couple years ago and I spoke with Rich Baker. He started the process and all traffic studies have been done and the project has been approved. I contacted them to find out why it has not been done and it’s going through the design or engineering process. This process can delay it until next year. This is unacceptable and how many more accidents have to occur and lives lost to expedite the traffic signal? I have contacted the Delegates office and they are working on it as well. The amount of signatures and public concern will put them on notice that these delays are putting lives at risk. I know how these processes can be and how many desks something like this has to go through but I’m asking for help from the community to help speed up the process. This intersection is deadly and saving lives is what is most important. Thank you for your help. Michelle Hamilton
