Allow Spouses To Be Paid As Care-Providers In Massachusetts

Victory! The creator of this petition declared the campaign a success. You can still sign the petition to show support.

If you are disabled in Mass., your mother/father/aunt/uncle/brother/sister/grown-child/friend as well as a complete stranger all are eligible under MassHealth to be paid as your care-provider... BUT NOT YOUR SPOUSE! I am disabled and my spouse is prohibited by state law to be my Personal Care Assistant (PCA). We urge the "MA Joint Committee on Health Care Financing" to pass H.3716: "An Act Regarding Spouses As Caregivers" already supported by Gov. Patrick, many state legislators, as well as by the elder-care advocacy group MA HOME CARE.

Why is this important?

I am disabled and my spouse is prohibited by state law to be my Personal Care Assistant (PCA).
