Mr. Andrew Womble:
We, the undersigned, as residents of the First Prosecutorial District of North Carolina, your constituents, and as citizens who have a vested interest in seeing justice served for Andrew Brown, Jr., demand that you recuse yourself as prosecutor of the Andrew Brown wrongful death case. It is undeniable that you have a conflict of interest in trying this case, owing to your close ties to the law enforcement officers responsible for Mr. Brown's death.
We expect you to follow the correct protocols and step aside in order that a special prosecutor may be appointed. To that end, a copy of this signed petition will be forwarded to the offices of Governor Roy Cooper and NC Attorney General Josh Stein.
