Juan Vargas Should Help Save Loveland Reservoir Fishing.
Please help reopen our case at my Congressperson's office for mediation with The USDA Department of Forestry for the protection of citizen rights at Loveland Reservoir in Alpine CA.
I have been a volunteer advocate to protect and fully reinstate public access at Loveland Reservoir for almost a year now. Our main partner in government is(should be) the USDA Dept. of Forestry. This agency claims to be renegotiating the easement which grants hiking fishing and birdwatching from sunrise to sunset, but are not willing to help put pressure on the lake manager ,Sweetwater Authority, to properly meet their recreation obligations .
Sweetwater Authority's destruction of the fishing program and lake amenity should be reversed to restore public rights to access and enjoy this natural resource.
Why is this important?
Intervention in an apparent political destruction or important regional recreational rights and destruction of a lake amenity are worthy causes.
This is one of the most beautiful wild spaces in San Diego County.
Due to a favorable land transfer from the U.S. government to the Sweetwater Authority it is free for the public to enjoy. This access is supposed to run with the land in perpetuity. It is very important to all generations present and future.
