Request for Public Discussion about ATVs on Morristown Roads
The Morristown Selectboard is considering a proposal to allow ATV access on select Morristown town roads. Concerned citizens are asking for a robust public discussion and informational meeting with the Morristown Selectboard to hear the concerns of residents and study the full impact before enacting any changes to town ordinances that would allow recreational off-road vehicle access on town roads.
Why is this important?
Did you know that the Morristown Selectboard is considering a proposal to allow ATVs access to Walton Road, Cadys Falls Road, Bridge Street to Brooklyn Street? They've also discussed Mud City Loop, Center Road, Trombley Hill and potentially opening up more roads in the future.
The Morristown Selectboard has the ability to pass an ordinance without public discussion, but it is our opinion that having these important conversations is the responsible path forward. We need to thoughtfully examine of the full scope of impacts likely to be realized with increased ATV access on Morristown’s roads.
