Petition to Protect Benefits for INIC TeachersWe, the parents of INIC, are requesting an alignment of teacher’s benefits with those of Austin ISD and a confirmation of teacher’s tuition discount. Per the INIC Parent Handbook, many of INIC’s current policies are aligned with Austin ISD and we are requesting teacher pay and benefits also meet those standards. We are opposed to the sudden implementation of any changes to benefits, without adequate time for teachers to financially prepare for the impact these changes may take on their livelihood. At minimum, we are requesting: -Increasing pay for any teacher making below Austin’s current living wage ($20.80/hr or $43,264.00). -Align sick day and personal days policy with Austin ISD (5 personal days, 6 sick days; 11 days. -Guarantee full pay for non-holiday days for which the school is closed (e.g. Winter Break, Day after Thanksgiving, etc.) -Removing the requirement of a doctor’s note for returning to work after a sick day. -Guarantee a set percentage (%) discount tuition for teacher’s children attending INIC from the start of the school year. -Align changes in pay/benefits with changes in tuition (minimum number of days notice). Require any changes in pay structure, discounted tuition benefits, leave benefits be communicated at least 90 days prior to implementation/requiring signature from employees.209 of 300 SignaturesCreated by INIC Parents

Save Beach Mamas Bootcamp! This is a petition to allow Beach Mamas Bootcamp to continue to be held at Kiwanis Park, as it has for the past 5 years. Beach Mamas Bootcamp is a strength training program for all ladies in the community, specifically mothers since it specializes in Pre-& Postnatal. Moms can bring their kids to play at the park and get an awesome workout at the same time. It is for all ages and fitness levels. This program has built a community of women that support and uplift each other, turning this into more than just a workout program but a mental and physical support group. The women of Beach Mamas Bootcamp are devastated that Pender County has ordered to take ownership of their program, requiring becoming an independent contractor filing 1099 or terminate their program immediately. The alternative the county is offering for fitness is a male trainer that has been contracted for crossfit style workouts, at a separate pavilion. He will not allow kids at his program. This defeats the entire purpose of Beach Mamas Bootcamp. In order to preserve this program we must stand together as a community to support our local moms, who seek nothing more than the right to getting fresh air and getting stronger together every day. No program like this exists anywhere else. Let’s show there is strength in numbers by standing together and save Beach Mamas Bootcamp. PLEASE SHARE! And if you have any questions please email [email protected] ttps://www.facebook.com/Beachmamasbootcamp?mibextid=LQQJ4d232 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Jen Webster

Congressional reform actThe Congressional Reform Act of 2013 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/31/2013. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work. THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS! Don't you think it's time?3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lee Scoville

Bring Back Parent Pick UpPlease, for the safety of multiple students, parents and school employees along with a better flow and system bring back the previous year’s carline and parent pick up routine. This new routine isn’t about just needing some time to work itself out to start flowing. It was not thought out or planned well and here are some examples of why: Special needs children in most cases need extra support and are not comfortable going places alone. Our youngest group of children are having to walk to the furthest door alone. Most of the younger kids legally require still sitting in a 5 point harness car seat. If parents are not allowed out of their cars how do you expect the kids to be buckled in safely prior to leaving? Safety!! Traffic jam for 45 minutes to a hour - no one has time to wait that long in the morning or the afternoon. Buses driving on the other side of the road against oncoming traffic to bypass said traffic jam! Ummm again - SAFETY! Less hassle and confusion. Parents with children in a school grade and preschool having to manipulate their way through for multiple drop offs. Students being marked tardy due to YOUR procedure is a problem! This whole thing is a problem! Shall we keep going? When multiple, really majority, if not all of the parents are expressing concerns there is an issue and the fact that it’s being brushed off or ignored is truly insane!!347 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Rikki Madden

Stand with the Lummi Nation against Coal Exports!I am writing to support the recent request from the Lummi Nation to deny the Army Corps of Engineers permit for the Gateway Pacific Terminal at Cherry Point. The coal export facility cannot be built without having major adverse impacts upon the Lummi Nation's treaty rights, fisheries, and way of life. Additionally, our health, waterways, and children's future are threatened by North America's largest proposed coal export terminal. I believe that our government should always keep its word: we promised the Lummi and other tribes that we would protect their fishing rights, and we cannot break that promise. Because these impacts to the Lummi Nation's treaty right to fish cannot be mitigated, this project should be abandoned. I therefore ask you as my Senator and my Member of Congress to contact the Army Corps of Engineers' leadership and make certain that they uphold Lummi Nation's treaty right to fish the waters of the Salish Sea -- and take appropriate actions to end the project. It has become increasingly obvious that its economic, cultural and environmental costs are too great.4,105 of 5,000 SignaturesCreated by Sarah Rasmussen

Student Loan ForgivenessThis petition is urging President Obama and Congress to push for the Student Loan Forgiveness Act of 2012, a win-win piece of non-partisian legislation which will begin to releve the crippling, out-of- control student loan debt in this country, debt which currently now exceeds the amount of credit card debt.15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Shane LeCocq
