  • Elections should be held on Saturdays
There is no longer any reason whatsoever for elections to be held during the middle of the week, when low-income voters have a difficult time getting off. Elections need to be held on Saturdays.

  • Do you want to save Music
Do you want to save music? Well here is your chance. Hi my name is Valerie and I am here with my sister Amanda. We want to save music for Garrettford Elementary school. You see ever since I was young I loved music. When I was In first grade I couldn’t wait till I was in third grade because I could pick my second favorite instrument in the world. It is so much fun staying in with Mr. hide and playing the violin. Now ever one will be sad next year because the district is taking music away from us and that is like taking my life away from me. So if you like music as much as I do then sign here and well send a letter to our school board and our congress men and see if they can help in any way. There is a petition for adults already, so lets have one for the kids. After all that is who you are taking away from. Sign here

  • Children's Promise
I promise to support policies that promote the healthy development of Alabama children into responsible, educated adults. I will consider the needs of a child in poverty as carefully as the needs of a child in wealth. I will set an example of civilized behavior, and I will not treat any individual or group in a way I would be ashamed to have to explain to a child. As an adult, I will sacrifice my own self-interest when necessary, for the sake of our children, our future.

  • Save the USPS! Fire Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe!
Tell Obama to fire the Postmaster General Pat Donahoe! Save the USPS!! The Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe is sticking with a Republican approved plan to devastate the USPS. Instead of looking for new funding, paying USPS executives less (Donahoe makes $800,000 a year) or any other thoughtful solution, the plan is to destroy the USPS and turn all services over to private carriers that won't serve rural areas and will decrease service quality. • Petition for the Creation of a Public Assembly in Arcata, CA
We cannot save our World with Social Media alone. We have to start holding regular meetings in person. We need to form civil, organized, and determined Deliberative Assemblies which will pass Resolutions on the Issues we believe are most critical, with the intent that these Resolutions will be representative of the Will of the People of Arcata and the expectation that our Resolutions will be recognized as Democratic Law. These Public Deliberative Assemblies will be open to as many members of the public as wish to attend, anyone may bring a motion before the Assembly, everyone will have a chance to speak on each motion, and everyone may vote. I propose that at the next City Council Meeting a motion calling for the creation of a Public Deliberative Assembly is put before the Members of the Arcata City Council as an agenda item, and that the first order of business of this Assembly once it is established will be reaffirming the the Rights of Humanity and ensuring that our City, County, State and Country abides by these Rights once this Resolution has been ratified by the People of Arcata. If our City Council refuses to pass this Motion, I propose that they be replaced with new City Council Members who will uphold and enforce the Rights of Humanity and the Will of the People of Arcata, as expressed by the People. We must fully utilize out Right to Peaceably Assemble and our Right to Petition our Government for a Redress of Grievances in order to reverse the decline of our Nation and to save our World from the many evils we are faced with. All Human Beings have an unalienable Right to Democratic Self-Governance which is endowed to them not by their Government, but by their Creator. All Human Beings also have a Responsibility to use this Right to serve the Common Good while upholding the Rights of their fellow Human Beings. Let us use this Petition as a means of fulfilling that Responsibility here in Arcata. In the name of Democracy, may the People's voice be heard.

  • Free all the voters In South Carolina
South Carolina must not pass any law that takes away the right and freedom for citizens of the state to vote by erecting devious barriers. Our state is already near the bottom of the American standard for education and has a long and sordid history of racial injustice. The voter ID law will move the state in the wrong direction again.

  • End Tennessee's statewide effort to suppress the vote
Dear Speaker of the House, Ms. Beth Harwell; House Representatives and State Senators of the 107th General Assembly; Mr. Mark Goins, Coordinator of Elections; and local county election commissions across the state of Tennessee, under the encouragement and enabling of the current suppressive Voter ID laws made effective January 1, 2012: As we approach the General Elections this November, the Knoxville community rises up in solidarity to protest the current Voter ID Laws. Thirty states, including Tennessee, will be affected by the current Voter ID Laws that will undermine upcoming elections, denying American citizens the freedom of a fair and just election process. These current oppressive photo ID laws are aimed at young voters, students, individuals in conversion, citizens with disabilities, military veterans, the elderly, communities of color, and all people currently living on or below the poverty line. The given justification for these measures, voter fraud, does not outweigh the numbers of voters disenfranchised by these laws. These laws create a bigger problem and return us to the Jim Crow era and the poll tax of the past. We stand up with all Tennesseans, empowered, with the desire to ensure the right to vote for all communities in our state and stand up to support our elected officials and local election commissions in reversing any effort to disenfranchise the vote. Voter ID Laws breach upon our civil right to vote by creating poll taxes. Many of the individuals listed above, including those of color, with disability, and in poverty, have limited access to transportation and id-issuing offices, as well as costs associated with getting the necessary documentation to obtain valid ID now required for voting. We petition that the 108th Tennessee General Assembly recognize the outcry of its constituency and reverse the new Voter ID Laws. We ask that Speaker Harwell, as a woman, personally sponsor and foster the reversal of these laws in respect of her heritage as a protected class and as the first female Speaker for the Tennessee House of Representatives.

  • STOP GOP GOAL FOR OFFSHORE DRILLING
Bill "Birther" Posey needs to suffer the consequences of his continual votes against common sense and assaults on the fragile Florida ecology. His anti-environmental votes are not in the best interests of the people that he allegedly represents in the U. S. Congress. His vote for off-shore drilling in H. R. 4480 is more than sufficient reason for him to not win re-election.
