We, the petitioners want to ask the Council Members to vote No on BL-2012-103 to allow an Asphalt Plant on Franklin Limestone Rd. Numerous issues which include traffic, health and environmental make this a danger to our community. There are other, better places to locate this type of business that don't put families in danger. Also, it would sit next to Mill Creek which is home to an endangered species.

We the under-signed ask the Tennessee Legislature to pass into law a provision that prohibits industrial encroachment on communities and neighborhoods. The "Not in My Backyard" Law would create a one-mile neighborhood-friendly zone and keep hazardous businesses outside the borders of established communities, HOAs, and neighborhoods. This law would only apply to NEW industrial or hazardous businesses or changes in established businesses that would affect the quiet enjoyment standard used in most local ordinances and/or changes in the quality of air, water, basic services, safety, peace and quiet, and security. Governments should never increase risk to citizens and/or communities by intended action or law.

A majority of college graduates leave school with crippling debt. This is the only country in the world that does this to its own citizens. Student loan Reform would first automatically grant a two year retroactive payment freeze extension on all existing student loans. All interest would be eliminated on all student loans permanently. Banks took millions of tax payer dollars but charge inflated interest this should be stopped now. Finally students needing funding would receive a majority of it through grants not loans. ending this damaging cycle that benefits the banks but not America.

Instagram blocked ads for PrEP, impacting us all but more greatly the LGBTQ community. This drug and the awareness of it is critical in preventing HIV. Instagram must reverse this decision and allow these important ads to be released.

As the CEO and board of directors of ASPIRA of IL, you can help ASPIRA teachers and staff build stable and successful schools by working toward a fair contract with their union. Negotiate a fair contract that will stop the revolving door of employees and end the persistent instability for students.

Petition to the President of the United States and members of the U.S. Congress. We the people call on the U.S. Congress to establish an official federal paid holiday in honor of Compassion for Senior and Disabled Citizens, on the 15th of March.  This should include a Compassion Day of service, education and awareness for community involvement, with the complement of offerings by the people of the United States toward Senior and Disabled Citizens.
