Please support a statewide diesel standard during the 2017 legislative session to require clean diesel engines that don't cause unhealthy air pollution. Further, please fund engine upgrades! The VW settlement is the right tool for the job. Without adequate funding, old engines will linger for too many years.

Any problems with falling coconuts can be avoided by proper placement of the trees or free coconut harvesting services. Miamians love the coconut palm. Please keep the coconut in Coconut Grove and throughout Miami. Please respect and protect our heritage by ending the coconut palm ban.

Donald Trump's relentless attacks on women cannot go unchallenged. Every Republican candidate running for Senate must immediately disavow Trump and declare that Trump has lost their vote due to his campaign's brazen misogyny and other forms of hate. Congress is considering legislation that would establish "consolidated interim storage" sites for high-level radioactive waste. This would initiate the unnecessary transport of tens of thousands of casks of lethal radioactive waste on our roads and railways for the sole benefit of the nuclear power industry, while endangering the health and safety of millions of Americans. As long as nuclear reactors generate this waste, "interim" waste sites would not decrease the number of places that store radioactive waste; rather, there would simply be more contaminated sites. Radioactive waste should be stored in dry hardened, secure on-site facilities until a permanent, scientifically-defensible and publicly-acceptable waste solution is implemented. This waste should be moved only once: to a permanent site. Ending the generation of radioactive waste would be the most effective single step toward addressing our radioactive waste dilemma. Please vote against any legislation that would establish consolidated "interim" storage sites for radioactive waste.

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Congress amend the Federal Reserve Act (1) to require the Federal Reserve Board to stop monetizing government debt through its buying and selling of U.S. Treasury securities, (2) to begin re-activating its discount mechanism to encourage private sector growth linked to expanded ownership opportunities for all Americans, and (3) to provide a lifetime ownership share in each regional Federal Reserve bank to every citizen as a fundamental right of citizenship.
