Repeal remaining Tiahrt restrictions, budget riders that restrict access to federal gun data and keep the public, researchers, and elected officials in the dark about who gun traffickers are and how they operate. Require gun-owners to notify the police when a gun is stolen. Restrict concealed carry permits to individuals who have completed a safety training course and are 21 and older. Don't issue concealed carry permits to perpetrators of violent misdemeanors or individuals arrested for domestic violence.

Gun owners should be required to have liability insurance for their guns and be required to present proof of insurance when requested by a police officer or the gun should be confiscated and held until the proof is presented or, after a fair waiting period, destroyed. The insurance company should perform the background check at the applicant's expense. the insurance should be required to cover any damage done by the insured gun.

The second thing we need to do is protect the public from persons or companies who bait and switch consumers for locksmith services sometimes charging unreasonable high prices, poor workmanship and causing a bad image for all locksmiths. The absolute biggest part of the problem is the Telecommunications Carriers that provide these criminals with the ability to cause their telephone listings with unverified business names and phony addresses to be published in printed phone books, 411 providers, and internet search engines with absolutely no verification or authentication and no rules requiring the Telecommunications Carriers from doing any such directory listing verification. I hereby petition Congress to amend the Telecommunications Act of 1966 to include language requiring every telephone carrier in the United States to obtain positive verification (such as a title deed or verifiable rental or lease agreement) for every address and end-user customer wishes to list in directory where said carrier has not actually installed service. I hereby petition the FCC and each state’s Public Utilities Commission (or other agency that regulates Telecommunications Carriers) to enact rules to the effect of the above paragraph. I hereby petition the DOJ, FBI, FTC, FCC, and Homeland Security to investigate and vigorously prosecute scammers in every industry where they are engaging in this criminal and consumer fraud behavior. The health of Jefferson County residents should not be written off as a cost of doing business. Unfortunately, our health is at risk from Ameren’s harmful coal pollution, which contaminates the air we breathe, the water we drink, and land we all enjoy. As a local resident, I am asking for the Jefferson County Council to be our heroes and reject Ameren’s proposed coal ash landfill, and call upon the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to require Ameren to lower its sulfur dioxide emissions to levels that are safe for residents to breathe and in accordance with the Clean Air Act.

Don't fast-track the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a corporate trade deal that will 1. sabotage serious efforts to combat climate change; 2. hurt workers with a race-to-the-bottom approach to labor standards; 4. further erode democratic principles with tribunals that will enable corporations to sue sovereign governments over labor or environmental protections; 5. and as we've seen from NAFTA and similar trade deals, it will strain communities here from increased immigration as people in other countries try to escape crippling economic changes due to so-called free trade agreements.

Staff, clients, and community members are demanding the resignation of the Chief Program Officer Judy Perloff, whose incompetence has created a culture of corruption at Chicago House.
