Tell Congress: Don't fund Trump's border wallThe border wall that Donald Trump has demanded for years would be an ecological disaster, an enormous waste of money, and an international symbol of intolerance that doesn't represent America's values. But Trump has said that he will shut down the government unless Congress gives him $5 billion for the wall. Congress should not let Trump take our government hostage. Even many Republicans know that the border wall is a bad idea. The money could be better spent on projects related to health care, education, and the economy.122,704 of 200,000 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

Stephen Miller must be fired for separating children from familiesAlthough public pressure has forced Trump to modify the policy for now, families—including children—can be indefinitely detained in what are essentially prisons. There are also no guarantees that the families torn apart will ever be reunited. Stephen Miller has been identified by the press as the senior White House official behind this new "zero tolerance" policy and should be fired immediately. While other officials, such as Department of Homeland Security chief Kirstjen Nielsen, have been the public face of this policy, it is Stephen Miller who engineered it — and many of the Trump Administration’s other awful anti-immigrant ideas. Recently, the New York Times reported that “Mr. Miller was instrumental in Mr. Trump’s decision to ratchet up the zero tolerance policy.” Last year, The Guardian reported Stephen Miller was also the policy architect behind the Muslim travel ban. The New Yorker reported that he was responsible for ending temporary protected status for Haitian, Salvadoran, and Honduran immigrants already living in the U.S. Miller’s policies look like a page out of the white nationalist playbook — and that’s because Miller has long identified with members of that movement. He even helped white nationalist Richard Spencer raise money for an immigration debate at Duke University. Stephen Miller’s white nationalist policies have no place in America — let alone the White House. Children don’t belong in cages and families belong together. Sign the petition and tell the White House to fire Stephen Miller for his disastrous and inhumane policy of separating children from parents at the border.83,946 of 100,000 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

Department Of Justice: Remove Biased Judges Like Andrew HanenJudge Andrew Hanen is the conservative judge in Texas who blocked President Obama’s new immigration programs that allow undocumented parents of U.S. citizens, people who came to the United States, and children to apply for driver’s licenses and work permits. In his latest display of anti-immigrant bias, Judge Hanen issued an outrageous order that accuses the U.S. Department of Justice of “misconduct” and demands that personal information of thousands of immigrants is released to the general public. If carried out, Hanen’s biased order would leave thousands of immigrant families exposed to intimidation or even violence from anti-immigrant forces across the country. Judge Andrew Hanen is not interested in upholding the rule of law; instead, he is willing to use the judicial system in order to carry out his biased political agenda. If we want to uphold the integrity of our judicial system, then we need biased judges like Andrew Hanen to be removed from handling any case where their ruling is partial. We demand that the Department of Justice file the necessary motions to seek the removal of Judge Hanen from overseeing United States v. Texas.6,203 of 7,000 SignaturesCreated by Juan Escalante

Keep Families Together. Stop Max's DeportationPastor Max Villatoro is my pastor at First Mennonite Church in Iowa City. He was detained Tuesday, March 3 by ICE without being given a chance to say goodbye to his wife and four U.S. Citizen kids. He is not a priority for removal and he is definitely not a threat to national security, border security, or public safety. We need your support to help keep him here with his family. Please sign this petition urging ICE to grant Max Villatoro (A# 094-338-085) a stay of removal. Max’s US Citizen children belong together with their father and Max belongs here in Iowa city with his congregation. He is the type of person who should get a second chance, not deported.23,021 of 25,000 SignaturesCreated by Alyssa M. Rodriguez

Scott Walker and Chris Christie Are Joining Forces to Attack 5 Million ImmigrantsTwo Republican Presidential hopefuls, Gov. Scott Walker and Gov. Chris Christie, have joined forces to attack an estimated 5 million immigrants with deep roots in their communities. Last November, after months of pressure from millions of immigration reform activists, President Obama announced two new immigration policies to protect millions of people who grew up in America without papers and parents of U.S. citizens who don’t have an immigration status from deportation. This was one of the biggest wins for the immigrant community in nearly a generation, but Gov. Walker and Gov. Christie have joined a host of Republican governors and state attorneys general on a bogus and mean-spirited lawsuit designed to delay the implementation of these new programs. I’m so sick of Republicans playing politics with the lives of so many people. Please join me in demanding that Gov. Walker and Gov. Christie withdraw their support for the bogus lawsuit attacking immigrant youth and undocumented parents of US citizens.17,225 of 20,000 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

Graduating Dreamers Need the Dream ActKarla came to the United States from Mexico right before her third birthday. She used to be ashamed and afraid of being undocumented. But everything changed in November 2012 when she was able to obtain Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Because of DACA, Karla was able to work as an intern at the University of Houston Law Center Immigration Clinic, where she began to champion her fellow immigrants by organizing DACA clinics, participating in actions, and organizing legislative campaigns to protect undocumented students just like her. This month, Karla graduated from law school and will continue to be a champion for immigrants as an immigration attorney. Congress has had MONTHS to act, yet they’ve still failed to pass a Dream Act that would protect Dreamers like Karla, and hundreds of thousands of young immigrants like her. They are as American as anybody else in their graduating class, yet they may face deportation if Speaker Paul Ryan and Congressional Republicans don’t act. Tell Speaker Ryan: allow a vote on the Dream Act now! We cannot keep putting the future of Dreamers on hold.156 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

Stand with California Leaders Against Jeff Sessions' Attack on ImmigrantsToday, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that he was suing the state of California over pro-immigrant laws that protect Californians against the overreaches and abuses of Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE). Jeff Sessions' lawsuit against California, the most immigrant-populous state, is simply the Trump Administration's latest attack on the immigrant community. Immigrant-friendly policies like the California "Values Act" makes everyone safer by promoting trust between immigrants and local law enforcement officials. Furthermore, courts have repeatedly ruled that the Trump Administration's policies on detaining immigrants are unconstitutional. But Jeff Sessions and Donald Trump don’t seem to care. California Governor Jerry Brown referred to Jeff Sessions' attacks on his state were nothing more than a "political stunt." Attorney General Sessions is seeking to undermine due process and state policies dedicated to protecting diverse communities. The United States is a nation of immigrants and this lawsuit tramples on American values. Please sign this petition thanking California leaders for and letting them know that we stand with them in supporting immigrants.72 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

Tell Senator Murkowski To Stand With DreamersThis summer, the Trump Administration will decide whether to deport nearly 800,000 young immigrants who came to the United States as children and currently have no immigration status, a group often known as Dreamers. In 2012, President Obama used his executive power to protect Dreamers from deportation and allowed them to work and drive legally in the United States. Since then Dreamers have thrived under DACA, by going to school and contributing back to their local communities and economy. However, several officials within the Trump Administration have indicated that they intend on ending the DACA program - killing the dreams of hundreds of thousands of Dreamers who grew up only know America as their home and putting them on a path to deportation. Even Trump’s top immigration official even told Hispanic leaders in Congress to prepare for the worst in regards to the DACA program. The 2017 Dream Act, a bipartisan bill recently introduced in Congress, would allow Dreamers to stay in the United States and apply for citizenship. If we want to ensure that Dreamers are kept safe from Donald Trump’s Deportation Force, then Senator Murkowski must recognize them as the aspiring Americans that they are and pledge to protect DACA program and co-sponsoring the 2017 Dream Act.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sara

Justice Neil Gorsuch MUST recuse himself from DACA decision!Neil Gorsuch, the newest Supreme Court Justice and a Donald Trump appointee, has not been an impartial judge. He recently gave the keynote address at a Trump Hotel event, and this week, he had dinner and discussed “important issues” with members of Congress including Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX). Here's what's wrong with that picture: according to United States Code (Title 28, Section 455) justices and judges should recuse themselves from a case if they have independent knowledge of the facts in dispute or they have a personal bias concerning the case. Sen. Cornyn is one of the most anti-immigrant members of Congress and is currently pushing legislation that would make it impossible to protect Dreamers. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear a case that will make or break the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which allows Dreamers to drive and work legally in the country. If the Supreme Court votes the wrong way, 800,000 Dreamers from across the nation will become deportation targets for Donald Trump By meeting with Sen. Cornyn to discuss “important issues,” Justice Gorsuch has demonstrated his willingness to listen to the views and opinions of one of the biggest immigrant restrictionists in the United States. How can Justice Gorsuch remain impartial when he is palling around with one of the most anti-immigrant U.S. Senators? The integrity of the Supreme Court must be preserved! Justice Gorsuch MUST recuse himself from the DACA decision.2,131 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth

Demand Republicans #RescindRacism and End Donald Trump's Muslim Ban and Deportation ForceDonald Trump's recent immigration executive orders unleashed the worst political humanitarian crisis in recent US history. He has directed his deportation force to separate immigrant families, barred refugees from fleeing life-threatening conditions, and banned legal permanent residents -- and even United States citizens with dual citizenship -- from entering the country because of their nations of origin. His orders are blatantly racist, Islamaphobic, and anti-immigrant. They are ill-conceived and morally reprehensible. But if enough members of Congress call on Donald Trump and DHS Secretary John Kelly to rescind their racist executive orders, the White House will have no choice to pull these orders. Members of Congress have a responsibility to intervene and stand up for ALL of their constituents. Please join us in demanding action to this nightmare.263 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Matt Hildreth
