Republican Governor Joe Lombardo is up for reelection in 2026. It is possible he can be unseated in a blue wave with a good candidate in Nevada Attorney General and former state lawmaker Aaron Ford.
Aaron Ford won election to the AG's role in 2018 in the blue wave. But in 2022, when Democrats had a much harder time statewide, Ford coasted to an 8-point reelection victory with a coalition of Republicans endorsing him. This is a recipe poised for success in 2026 against a more popular, stronger incumbent Republican Governor.
