Abolish Daylight Savings Time

Daylight Savings Time is an antiquated system that causes more problems than it solves. It causes productivity dips during transitional times, adversely affects school children by shifting their schedules, and requires additional development for time-based computer systems.

The practice of shifting time by an hour during summer months is further complicated by a lack of global or even national unity. Time zones within the United States shift separately, and not all locales observe the practice. Globally, the United States and the European Union shift at different times, and many other countries do not shift at all.

I propose that the United States lead the remaining nations that observe summer time shifts in ending this practice.

Why is this important?
