Act Fast to Protect the Lives Under DACA

Congress must act now to legalize the status of immigrants that are protected under DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. DACA is an American Immigration Policy that allows individuals who were brought to the United States as children but have unlawful presence to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and become eligible for a work permit. This petition is an attempt to restore and get DACA back into action, as it was paused and tried to be repealed under Donald Trump.

Why is this important?

Many immigrant children living in the United States are or were under the protection of DACA, but are now in the midst of trying to be deported. Many and most of these children and teenagers were brought to the United States as young toddlers or infants. If they were to get deported, this would mean sending them to a place they cannot call home; a place where they have never been, do not know the language of, and may not feel safe in. Protecting DACA would mean protecting these lives.
