Add Artis E. Hinson Way to Stephens Street

The citizens of the Greensboro Community petition the city of Greensboro to adjust Stephens Street by adding Artis E. Hinson Way street sign to the street location in honor of Artis E. Hinson. Artis E. Hinson was an innovator, master teacher, holistic healer, and herbalist who served and educated members of the Greensboro community (and abroad) on the importance of health and wellness through his landmark business Body Ecology Attunement Center. Body Ecology, once located in downtown Greensboro before being destroyed by fire, was later rebuilt at Artis Hinson's childhood home on Stephens Street.

Artis Hinson was a major pillar to that neighborhood area, the surrounding communities of Greensboro, Virginia, Washington DC and worldwide. In addition to community building and overall personal development to "better yourself," Artis’s vision and community involvement promoted unity, healthy living and inspired entrepreneurship.

We petition that Artis E. Hinson Way be added to the existing street sign Stephens Street to keep his legacy alive for generations to come, and allow his name to continue to inspire young locales to take ownership of themselves while bringing positive change to their communities...The Artist E. Hinson Way.

We the people of Greensboro, High Point, Virigina and surrounding areas, are family, neighbors, loved ones, and supporters of Artis E. Hinson and we come together as a community in this moment to request the city of Greensboro and county of Guilford honor and memorialize our hero who has now transitioned. It would bring us peace of mind and joy to know that our city officials stand with us and with positive change for our neighborhood area by granting our request. Thank you.
