Demand equal pay for equal work
Equal pay for Equal work shouldn't be controversial -- it's common sense. Unfortunately, a woman still makes an average of 77 cents to a man's dollar.
Why is this important?
At Make It Work, we believe women should be treated as equals in the workplace -- and that it’s about time our representatives recognized that, too.
Too often, women get paid less for equal work. That's insane, it's 2014! Equal pay is fair, and long overdue.
It's not just the right thing to do -- it's good for the economy.
Election Day is right around the corner. There’s no better time to send a message to candidates that if they want our votes, they need to show they’ll fight to make this country a fairer place to live and work for ALL of us.
Equal pay policies not only support women in the workplace, they ensure that everyone, no matter their gender, can work to support themselves and their families at home.
We won’t wait another two years to be heard. Together, we can change the conversation, but we need as many voices as possible to join in.
