We petition that the U.S., and its states, legislate that parental authority is exercised jointly. Parental authority must be exercised jointly when changing the jurisdictional residence of children. A parent's right of custody would be breached if another parent unilaterally changes the jurisdictional residence of children - unless permitted by operation of law, by a judicial or administrative decision, or an agreement having legal effect.
Why is this important?
In order to protect children from family abductions, by protecting equal parental authority - affirming that parental authority is exercised jointly.
