African Americans Demand Reparations After 400 Years of Slavery

African Americans came to America against their own will. They were forced work in in terrible conditions. They were treated like slaves and did not experience life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness until the passage of the 13th Amendment to the U.S. constitution. However, the the practice of slavery transferred from private entities to the police. The Thirteenth Amendment exempts penal labor from its prohibition of forced labor. This allows prisoners who have been convicted of crimes (not those merely awaiting trial) to be required to perform labor or else face punishment while in custody. African Americans are still experiencing the effects of post-slavery. Where is your heart and decency to end slavery by issuing cash reparations to African Americans because a debt is owe to them? Without life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, African Americans are still not free to experience true equality. If our members of Congress are not going to issue cash payments to African Americans, then we have the right not to vote for the incumbents again in the midterms.

Why is this important?

People should join my campaign because African Americans had fought hard for immigrants, LGBT, people with disabilities, women, and other minorities the right to vote. Without African Americans, American democracy would not exist today. Please show empathy and commitment because time cannot wait. Thank you and have a great weekend.
