Ag-Gag Laws: Unconstitutional and Unconscionable!

Stop the passage of laws that:
- protect animal abusers.
-limit the First Amendment rights of those who attempt to discover and expose abusers.
-put economic gain over the ethical and humane treatment of animals.

Why is this important?

Iowa ranks with the bottom five US states when it comes to animal protection laws. While we recognize that farm animals are raised to provide food for us, this doesn't mean livestock should have to endure cruel and inhumane treatment. There are 25 states that have ag-gag laws, Iowa's was recently found by US Federal Court to be unconstitutional. These laws keep potentially brutal, animal-related businesses, such as puppy mills, from being discovered and stopped. Ag-gag laws are economically driven and for the most part serve to protect those who have no conscience when breaking any animal cruelty laws that do exist!
