Ald. Moreno: Defer Plan Commission Hearing on Proposed Two Towers at 2293 N. Milwaukee

We strongly urge Alderman Moreno to postpone the April 16 Chicago Plan Commission hearing until the community has had the opportunity to give real input on the 2293 N. Milwaukee proposal.

Why is this important?

The proposed 12- and 11-story towers at 2293 N. Milwaukee would set a dangerous precedent for out-of-scale development that would lead to more tear-downs, displacement and higher storefront rents in Logan Square. The proposal does not provide sufficient community benefits, such as setting aside units that are truly affordable to local families, and in essence creates a "gated" community. We strongly urge you to postpone the April 16 Chicago Plan Commission hearing until the community has had the opportunity to give real input on the proposal.

Reasons for signing

  • I believe the height of the proposed buildings to be out of sync with the neighborhood.
  • we don't want these buildings in our neighborhood. Nobody I know in the community would agree with this project. Put it in Lincoln park or lake view
  • I STROGLY disagree with this project. The scale of it with 11 & 12 stories is completely wrong for the area. It's a joke. Reject the project completely or scale it down to a 5 or 6 story building. No more
