Sexual, mental & physical abuse allegations require GTC Commission Chair Rob Hentschel resign NOW!
Chairman Hentschel, it's time to GO! You have a long record of verbally abusive conduct against fellow commissioners and members of the public who disagree with you. Now we know about the petition for personal protection order (PPO) requested by your ex-wife! The allegations of violence, sexual, mental, and physical abuse detailed in the petition (linked below) are abhorrent. That the petition was denied by those for whom you hold budgetary and positional power over is obscene.
This petition calls for three actions:
1. for Chairman Rob Hentschel to resign immediately
2. for the Grand Traverse County Board of Commissioners to demand Chair Hentschel resign immediately
3. for the Grand Traverse County Board of Commissioners to call for an immediate review of Andrea Hentschel's petition for PPO against Chair Hentschel by a neutral legal jurisdiction, rather than those who depend on Chair Hentschel's support for their budgets and jobs. Why is this important?
This has to stop! The emergence of these allegations is the last straw. Chair Hentschel's abusive conduct toward fellow commissioners and members of the public with whom he disagreed along with these serious allegations show that he is unfit for office. This demands action.
That any woman in our county asked local authorities for protection against a powerful, elected leader, and was shut down should worry us all. That this was known since 2020 but kept quiet is of further concern.
NOW is the time to act!
