We, the undersigned students, parents, and supporters of McLoud High School, come together to advocate for the right of senior graduates to decorate their graduation caps. Graduation is a momentous milestone in every student's life, signifying the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. It is a time for celebration, reflection, and personal expression.

For decades, the tradition of decorating graduation caps has been cherished by students and families alike. It serves as a symbol of individuality and achievement, allowing seniors to showcase their creativity and personality as they embark on the next chapter of their lives. However, current school policy at McLoud High School prohibits students from engaging in this longstanding tradition, denying them the opportunity to fully commemorate this important event in a unique and meaningful way.

Across the nation, many schools embrace and encourage the tradition of cap decoration as a form of self-expression. According to the National Association for College Admission Counseling, allowing students to decorate their caps not only fosters creativity but also adds vibrancy and diversity to the graduation ceremony. By denying our seniors this opportunity, we risk stifling their enthusiasm and diminishing the celebratory spirit of the occasion.

Therefore, we respectfully urge the administration of McLoud High School to reconsider its policy on cap decoration for senior graduates. We believe that by allowing students to decorate their caps, we will enhance the graduation experience and demonstrate our support for their individuality and accomplishments.

Let us come together to celebrate our achievements with color and creativity! Sign this petition if you believe in upholding our right to self-expression during graduation.

Thank you for your consideration.
