Allow Photographers In Maryland to go back to work May 1, 2020

Allow professional photographers to provide services for High School Seniors, Family, Maternity and Newborn Photo sessions as they are time-sensitive. Privately one client at a time Starting as of Friday, May 1, 2020. All necessary precautions and sanitation protocols approved by the state of MD and the local Board of Health will be followed. Our industry needs to be recognized & deemed as an essential business so we can better serve our community. Servicing one client at a time (while wearing a mask) poses little to no risk of spreading the virus, as compared to 20 or more people in a grocery store or 10 plus people at restaurants picking up food.
Also allow professional photographers to book appointments for their clients. Most professionals have private studios and utilize outdoor space with no contact between themselves and their clients. They should be able to still offer their services at their discretion and to offer clean sanitized props if used/needed for a shoot. Professional photographers should not be fined if they choose to accept a client while practicing social distancing guidelines as needed.

Why is this important?

Many people find that documenting their lives through photos is very important and with this being spring time and a very busy time of year, professional photographers should not have to turn people away if they would like to take advantage of this service.
