Allow Soft Opening Of Tanning Salons (May 1st, 2020)

Allow licensed Tanning Salons to
perform U.V. and Touchless Spray Tans with one client in the salon/per room Starting as of Friday May 1 . All
necessary precautions and sanitation
protocols approved by the state of
Illlinois and the local Board of Health will
be followed. Our industry needs to be
recognized & deemed as an essential
business so we can better serve our
community.
Servicing one client at a time (while
wearing a mask & gloves) poses little to
no risk of spreading the virus, as
compared to 20 or more people in a
grocery store or 10 plus people at
restaurants picking up food.
The average face to face contact with a tanning client is under 2 minutes during sign in. Tanning equipment is cleaned and sanitized before and after each client with disinfectant that meets or exceeds current CDC guidelines.

Why is this important?

Tanning salons provide important services, cosmetically, medically, and psychologically. The survival of the independent tanning profession is at risk. We are facing grave professional and financial hardship.
