Ban Outside Religious Missionaries from UH Campus
Religious groups from off-campus (which are not run by students) are coming onto the UH Hilo Campus to spread their arbitrary, nonscholastic messages. Some of these religious groups openly preach anti LGBTQ+ hate, hatred of other religions, antisemitism, misogyny, racism, & ableism.
The students of the UH Hilo Campus make up one of the most diverse colleges in the World. That being the case, no special treatment for off-campus groups which seek to change fundamental aspects of individuals should be tolerated. These islands have already been subject to too much erasure of local culture by religious Missionaries.

Why is this important?
As students & Faculty of the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, we come here for education, & not to be subjected to pseudo-science & bigotry from off-campus groups. Hate crimes are on the rise in America & Hawai'i, & the perpetrators of said hate crimes are usually acting out because of religious beliefs. True freedom of religion includes freedom from religion.
