Betsy DeVos wants to cut the entire 18 million dollar budget for the Special Olympics. She defended this by saying, "I think that the Special Olympics is an awesome organization, one that is well supported by the philanthropic sector as well." Let’s encourage Betsy to put her philanthropy where her mouth is, and sell her $40 million Seaquest yacht (1 of her fleet of 10 yachts) to fund the Special Olympics.
Why is this important?
I am personally disgusted by the contrast between Ms. DeVos’s personal wealth, which is growing under the current administration’s tax cuts for the wealthy, and her clear intent to undermine the needs of public education, especially those with special needs.
