Brayden's Law

Children with autism are not the easiest to care for in a child care setting or in schools where they are out of their element.

My son Brayden is going to be 6 in September and he was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in May of 2009. It has been a hard struggle for myself (a single mother) to find a reliable child care center for him to go to while I work. My son has been "kicked out" of 2 child care centers in 3 weeks time.

I want there to be a law that requires child care center employees and school employees to take a course in educating them on children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Autism has a high prevalence of 1 in 88 children. People should be educated on how to care for all these children with this disorder.

Why is this important?

My son Brayden has autism. Child care centers keep denying him care because they cannot handle him or know how to deal with autism.

I want there to be a law to protect children with autism. All child care providers should be required to take a course on caring for autistic children.
