Bring Mental Health Care Back to Ulster County
County Executive Pat Ryan,
We need to bring mental healthcare back to Ulster County. Westchester is too far away when the need for mental health services has never been greater. People who have limited transportation options or limited mobility in general must often go without and suffer through during this time that is difficult enough.
We also need to expand and invest in mobile mental health services as well as access to all health services for Ulster County residents.
We hear time and time again there is no money in the budget, however when the political will is there the funding always seems to turn up. We demand that you find that political will. We suggest looking at the budget of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office.

Why is this important?
The Covid-19 pandemic has been a time of extreme duress for most people. Transportation shutdown for months and is still not back to full service. People have lost their jobs, lost loved ones, and suffered breakdowns in physical and mental health.
