Sirs:
I am proposing a plan for your consideration concerning the expansion of the present transit bus system utilizing the public roads to plan and construct a new segregated elevated private right of way utilizing autonomous People Mover vehicles.

This plan would ease traffic conditions on already crowded streets and provide uninterrupted service in a clean and efficient manner.

This proposal would take Broward County Transportation out of the twentieth and into the twenty-first century.

Much in the same way that Miami Dade County did in 1986 when it implemented Metro Mover its own people mover system, two years after establishing MetroRail, it's heavy rail system.

A People Mover in Broward County would provide convenient and reliable access from Ft. Lauderdale Tri-Rail/Amtrak Station running east along Broward Blvd to the Brightline Station/BCT Terminal then turning south onto Andrews Avenue to FLL Airport.

An intermiate stop would be at Las Olas Blvd to accommodate and provide access to Riverwalk, Las Olas, Museum of Discovery & Science, Broward Center for Performing Arts, Broward County Bldg, County & Federal Courthouses, and Downtown shopping & dining.

A second intermediate stop at Davie Boulevard would provide access to Broward Health Medical Center & Hospital.

As the right of way would be centered over existing roadways, using the center medians and elevated to eliminate disruption of street traffic, and should avoid any public domain issues.

With the cooperation and participation of all parties we can make this happen.

Funding for acquisition, capital & operational costs could be covered by county finances, state (FDOT), FTA and federal funding and grants, general obligation bonds and private activity bonds.

Some points to consider would be the positive economic impact to the area businesses, and the overall benefit to the public including increased visitors and dollars spent.

Facts:
1) 600 daily flights out of FLL Airport
2) 3.7 million cruise ship passengers out of Port Everglades
3) Amtrak has 4 daily trains
4) Both Brightline and Tri-Rail have over 3O daily trains

This is a win-win situation and a doable project.

Thank you for your time and consideration, and I hope this letter and MoveOn Petition proves these points.

Why is this important?

We need additional transportation options for Broward County. These options and this proposal are in favor of clean, sustainable transportation options.
