California Mobile Pet Groomer’s back to work April 27th (Soft Opening)
Starting April 27th, 2020 allow all mobile pet groomers in the State of California to go back to work. Mobile pet groomers already service only one pet client at a time in their enclosed mobile pet grooming salon. There is very minimal human contact. All precautions and sanitation protocols will be followed. Our industry needs to be recognized & deemed as an essential business so we can better serve our community. Mobile pet grooming is already considered essential in Orange and Riverside Counties so Los Angeles County and other California counties should be also considered essential business. It doesn’t make sense to allow certain counties to operate and others to be locked out.
Because of the above stated, I believe that we should be reinstated immediately. Along with using diluted bleach solutions, alcohol solutions with at least 70% alcohol, and most common EPA-registered disinfectants each mobile pet salon can implement the following to keep the curve flat, but also be able to keep our livelihoods:
• Masks, eye-protection and gloves on mobile pet groomers at all times.
• Sanitize entire stations and tools before & after each client.
• Avoiding clients who have been sick in the last 2 weeks (fever, coughing, etc.)
• Only allow pets into mobile salon who are being actively worked on.
Servicing one client at a time (while wearing masks, eye-protection & gloves) poses little to no risk of spreading the virus.

Why is this important?
The financial survival of all California mobile pet grooming businesses are at risk. We are facing challenging financial hardships. It imperative that mobile pet salons are reinstated. We need to work in order to service our clients who’s pets are long-over due for grooming, feed our families, pay our bills, and support our economy. We are not given Paid Time Off or Insurance Benefits.
