Calling on Rep. Lee Zeldin to give back $33732 in NRA contributions

The National Rifle Association has contributed large amounts of money to many members of Congress, including House Representative, Lee Zeldin. Rep. Zeldin has received $33732 in support from the NRA and members of its staff.

The NRA's financial hold on our Congress is overwhelming, and it is one of the primary reasons why, in the wake of national tragedies, we remain unable to pass commonsense gun laws. Enough is enough and the time to act is now.

Why is this important?

I am disgusted by the hold the NRA has over members of Congress and elsewhere. Rational gun legislation is needed now more than ever.

Reasons for signing

  • Less money, more morality.
  • You have been silent - doing nothing on property tax deduction; silent on the hateful rhetoric; and silent on cruelty to human beings... Despite serving in the military you have been to cowardly to have a real meeting; hiding behind telephone meetings - far and few between. Money corrupts, as does power and I sadly conclude this about you. You are a part of the problem and an obstacle to the solution. I do however, thank you and all for your service; the same service given by my family ...
  • Obviously, for Lee Zeldin, a few thousand dollars from the NRA mean more than the human lives lost through mass shootings.
