Carlos Guillermo Smith for US Senate
For years, Democrats have run milquetoast candidates in Florida to not great success at all. That can change in 2026 with choosing a candidate as formidable and tough as State Senator Carlos Guillermo Smith.
Smith worked for Equality Florida, a pro-marriage equality, pro-LGBTQ group before running for public office for the first time in 2016. On that campaign trail, he made a courageous stand on behalf of Latinos in the community after the deadly Pulse Nightclub mass shooting.
Smith as a State Rep. fought proudly for fair maps, for gun safety, for reproductive choice, for marijuana legalization, for public education funding, for expanded healthcare, for climate action, and to protect animals. During his time in the State House of Representatives, he formed their Legislative Progressive Caucus, which aimed to advance progressive causes and the dignity of work in Tallahassee and offer a fair shot and chance for working families to thrive.
