CHARLOTTE FATHER FACES DEPORTATION FOR NO LICENSE – KEEP MANUEL HOME!
I am writing in support of Manuel Juarez Cortez (A#205-208-677), and ask that Manuel be allowed stay in the United States with his family.
On May 30, 2012 Manuel Juarez Cortez was returning home from work when his car broke down. When pulling off to the side of the road to check the vehicle, a policeman stopped to help, but then arrested Manuel for driving without a license. Although he has no criminal history, Manuel is facing deportation and the reality that he may be separated from his family after living in the US for over 12 years. Manuel’s three US citizen children - Hariana (11), John (9) and Eunice (1 ½), and his loving wife Claudia, depend on Manuel as the sole provider for their household.
The family is very anxious about the possibility of their separation. They are especially anxious for little John who suffers from scoliosis, a condition of the spine that must be treated and monitored every 6 months. John is very depressed due to what is happening with his family and since his father’s arrest he cries a lot. John is very close to his Dad and very dependent on him to help him understand his medical condition. Both Hariana and John attend therapy to deal with their anxiety, and Manuel’s wife Claudia has no idea how she will care for the family if Manuel is made to leave.
I urge you to take action and allow Manuel Juarez Cortez (A#205-208-677) to stay with his family. His family should not be made to suffer in this way.

Why is this important?
On May 30, 2012 Manuel Juarez Cortez was returning home from work when his car broke down. After pulling off to the side to check the vehicle, a policeman stopped to help, but then arrested Manuel for driving without a license. He cannot get one - the state of North Carolina does not issue driver licenses to undocumented immigrants.
Despite having no criminal record, and his strong ties to the Charlotte community, Manuel still faces deportation.
