Currently there is legislation that addresses child deaths and near deaths within the state of Kentucky. HB-200 sets up a neutral panel that reviews child death and near death cases and makes recommends possible changes to help prevent more deaths, abuse, and neglect. HB-237 would require the Cabinet to hire only social workers who are licensed by the Board of Social Workers.
