To: Navasota PD Interim Chief of Police, Michael Mize; Navasota City Manager, Jason Weeks.

Civilian Petition to Honorably and Permanently Resign Navasota Police Department Badge #9323.

As a result of an off duty motorcycle collision on August 10, 2020, Officer William Earl Cooper lost his life. Cooper was 22 years old.

Cooper was new to his title, but not to law enforcement, having worked also as a jailer and dispatcher while he attended A&M to obtain his TCOLE. Cooper was very proud of his career choice, and proud of his badge number, #9323, issued to him by NPD.

Cooper's headstone is to be delivered and placed this fall, following the 2nd anniversary of his passing. We implore and petition those in authority to retire his former badge number #9323, in honor of his service and love for law enforcement.

Cooper's many friends, family and especially his surviving mother, Natanya Cooper, associate #9323 with him even in death. Since his passing, it has been reassigned to multiple officers at NPD, causing heartache to those who love him.

Why is this important?

We the family of Officer William Earl Cooper, implored Former Chief of Police, Shawn Myatt, to retire #9323. We were not granted even an interview, or opportunity to formally request the retirement of #9323.

It is very important to his family namely, Mother Natanya Cooper of Montgomery, TX; Aunt Lori Hillje of Cotulla, TX; Sister Chelsea Cooper Schmidt of Amarillo, TX; Sister Sarah Cooper of Montgomery, TX.

How it will be delivered

By hand, to those officials named above.
