Clean water, stop using forever chemicals Michigan!
The testing of fish across the United States shows that every sample has PFOS and PFAS leading to the increased concentration in the Great Lakes fish species being caught and ingested. At this point we can only warn others about the dangers of consuming more than one fish a week or twelve in a year. More study and education is needed on this subject. Let’s educate and advise.
Why is this important?
According to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article, Laura Schultz writes, “The levels of forever-chemicals found in fish harvested from the Great Lakes are much higher than in commercially raised fish.” These forever chemicals need to be substantially controlled from going into our environment and eventually finding its way into all living species and significantly affecting homeostasis. We each have a obligation to keep our environment cleaner than we found it. We must examine these forever-products, severely regulate them to reduce further contamination. How these forever chemicals are created, used and discarded are the personal responsibility of the company and every individual to know and choose to encourage a sustainable future away from furthering this contamination!
