Climate change kills, we need the Green New Deal!

We want South Carolina to be on the right side of history by acknowledging climate change as a national emergency. And by concurring with the national youth climate strike demands (https://www.youthclimatestrikeus.org/platform) for combating climate change.

Why is this important?

Climate change impacts everyone but South Carolina is extremely vulnerable. In recent years we have had increased flooding, a rising number of dangerous heat days, and our coast is at risking of rising seas. South Carolina should take steps towards a more sustainable future by not investing in fossil fuels and moving towards a 100% renewable economy. We are also asking for South Carolina to educate and train youth on sustainable careers and climate change through a summit, weekend event, or training day. Climate change is a national emergency and we need to take the necessary steps to combat it.
