Close South-Western City Schools on Election Day (November 8)
The South-Western City School district should close school on Election Day (November 8) to protect our students, teachers, staff, and community.
Several school buildings in our district are used as polling locations while school is in session. Schools implement safety plans every day, and opening the doors to the public for elections puts those safety plans at risk. Every other school district in Franklin County sees this as an increased safety risk for students and is closed on November 8th. South-Western City School District is the only district in Franklin County that is open on November 8th. Dublin, Westerville, Hilliard, Worthington, Upper Arlington, Columbus City, etc are all closed because their schools are also used as polling locations.
My goal for this petition is that any other person that also sees this as a safety concern and want South-Western City Schools closed on November 8 will sign their name.

Why is this important?
It poses an increased safety risk for our students, teachers, staff, and community to have students in school while the public enters the building to vote.
