To be eligible for SNAP, a household must fill requirements related to work efforts. Under the work-related tests, certain household member must register for work, accept suitable job offers, and fulfill work or training requirements established by their state public assistance agency. Abled Body Adults without dependents (ABAWD) is limited to 3 monts in any 36-month period unless the ABAWD works at least half time or is in a work training program. Most able-bodied students ages 18 through 49 who are enrolled in college or other institutions of higher education at least half time are not eligible for SNAP benefits.
