Congress: Hold Public Hearings on the Prison Camps

We request that key Congressional Committees (Homeland Security, Oversight/Reform) hold in-depth investigative public hearings documenting human rights abuses, violations of treaties on treatment of asylum seekers, and taking testimony from those who witnessed or were targets of abuse by ICE or Customs & Border Patrol.

Seek out and protect whistle blowers from within ICE and Border Patrol; call the CEOs of private profiteers (GEO, CoreCivic) to testify; and take anonymous written testimony as needed to hold all abuses to the light of prolonged public scrutiny.

Why is this important?

Children are not an existential threat to the United Sates, yet we have allowed at least 13,000 of them to be separated from their families at our southern border in systematic perpetration of ongoing cruelty. (White Canadian children would not be treated this way.)

We must say NO to institutionalized cruelty on our own soil.

Asylum seekers must be welcomed and processed according to treaties, all abuses must be stopped and punished, and children must be reunited with their parents.
