Congressman DeFazio, as your constituents, we ask you to join the other members of Congress who have vowed to vote against any and every cut to Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security benefits. These austerity measures are fundamentally unfair to the people of the United States and will only further damage our weak economy.
Why is this important?
Cuts to programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are not only wrong, they will hurt our economy. Austerity measures have been proven ineffectual by Europe's experience, and now even the IMF is admitting that austerity doesn't work. The American people deserve better.
