Constitutionally Protect a Woman’s Right to Choose
I just signed a petition calling for the creation of a constitutional amendment to protect a woman’s right to choose.
In 1973 the Supreme Court decision of Roe V. Wade allowed women to get safe and legal abortions from well-trained doctors. But after this law was passed people and groups against legal abortion began working on a way to prevent any funding for abortion. In recent years many against legalized abortion have cut off federal and state funding to Planned Parenthood and other organizations and facilities that allow women to terminate their pregnancies. Denying a woman the right to choose an abortion in the first trimester should be unconstitutional. We need you to help create an amendment to secure the right to a first trimester abortion.
All though this Supreme Court Case has allowed for legal abortions in the United States, it can easily be overturned. Also there has been the creation of many requirement and laws to get around this ruling. In States such as Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Washington D.C., Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, and Nebraska they have found loop holes to restrict abortions, women, in these states, under the age of 18 either need a parents permission or their parents will be notified if they go through with an abortion. These regulations are used to scare women out of having this procedure and it is not right.
This is why you, our government, must create an amendment to the constitution to prevent this from ever happening. You must prevent our country from being influenced by a group’s ideology, or one’s personal beliefs. You need to create an amendment to allow and continue to allow women the opportunity to have unrestricted first trimester abortions.
I am writing this to urge you to create this Constitutional Amendment and protect a woman’s right to choose.
Thank you for your consideration.

Why is this important?
We need to create a constitutional amendment that guarantees a women’s right to an unrestricted first trimester abortion.
We need an amendment to the constitution that prevents Roe V. Wade from ever being overturned. This amendment must prevent a group’s ideology, a person’s personal beliefs, or the government from dictating what a woman should do with her body.
The 1973 Supreme Court decision of Roe V. Wade allowed women to get safe, legal abortions from well-trained doctors. But after this law was passed people against legal abortion began working on a way to prevent any funding for abortion. In recent years many against legalized abortion have cut off federal and state funding to Planned Parenthood and other clinics that allow women to terminate their pregnancies. Denying a woman the right to end her pregnancy in the first trimester should be unconstitutional. We need to create an amendment to secure the right to a first trimester abortion, it just hasn’t been written yet.
This is where you come in: by signing this petition we can make this amendment a reality.
