Create an environment for the insane now!
With the recent tragedies showing on the news there are a lot of cries for a heavy hand against gun control, but this nation does not want to see its police officers and national guard put into the line of fire by our fellow Americans. Instead of trying to limit freedom let us take a proactive step towards bettering our society.
Over the years our state governments have eliminated the hospitals and treatment facilities where we used to place the people that did not fit in with our society. This used to be a way to protect the public as well as the individual. Some of these were mismanaged and shut down due to legal reasons, but many of these hospitals made great advancements for treating mentally unstable patients.
Gun control is not the answer. The worst terrorist attack in the history of the world was carried out without a single gun. People that intend to do harm to others will find a way. We need to get back to the days of identifying these people and finding a treatment plan for them that involves keeping the community safe from them and vice versa. Our fathers never dealt with this sort of problem because they were intolerant of it.
So join me in understanding that gun control will not fix the problem, but understanding the mentally unstable and creating environments to exist in safely is the way to stop these shootings from happening.

Why is this important?
We keep seeing people that communities identify as "not right" and "very disturbed" end up on the news after another mass shooting. Our state governments have walked away from their responsibility to keep our streets safe from people that do not fit in with our society. It is time for us to enact legislation that will create a positive movement to keeping our society safe without limiting our rights.
