To: James Langfelder, Mayor of Springfield Illinois
CRISIS OF LOCAL SHOPPING
With the loss, of Shop and Save, North Grand Avenue, Aldi Foods, and the short-lived Walgreens, the near north side, of Springfield Illinois, is facing a REAL crisis.
This crisis, which faces the tenants, of the Hildebrandt Hi-Rise, Northmere, and other, low-income properties, as well as the Illinois E.P.A., and Lanphier High School, is the fact that, with the above-mentioned stores GONE, there remains NO store, on the north side, to provide for the needs, of local populations.
We want renewed, LOCAL, grocery shopping, and we want it NOW, not "someday".

Why is this important?
This is why I am asking for signatures, on this petition, regarding the use, of public funds, in Springfield Illinois. While Mayor James Langfelder, and the city council, continue to strive, for more funds, for hotels, casinoes, sports venues, etc, citizens must travel greater distances, for groceries.
If you believe that this is WRONG, and that municipal funds SHOULD be used, to replace lost grocery shopping, in Springfield Illinois, then I ask your signature, on this petition.
It does not matter if you live on the north end, or just work here. YOUR signature will be your VOICE, with the Mayors Office, and the city council.
It is time to TELL the mayor, and city government what We, the People, want, in Springfield.
