After 52 years, the Cuban Embargo still fails to achieve its objectives. The economic benefits of travel, open trade, and dialogue far outweigh the political agenda of a handful. Cuban-American’s send money, medicine and even luxury items to relatives while those innocents without ties are squeezed.
Other nations trade freely with Cuba and we impose no sanctions on them. Their citizens vacation 90 miles from our shores and we prohibit American travel? Clearly, this Cold War policy needs attention.
Together, we can tell Congress that dialogue between the US and Cuba will be a topic at election time.
Why is this important?
I own a business in the US and can't trade my products directly with Cuba due to the embargo. This is an economic failure for US business.
